Imminent Danger

A smart high school graduate was forced to join a lesser qualitative, lesser informative and lesser acknowledged college program. That was because his father refused to help him to study in a country I don't want to reveal. The rejection was based on the father's background about that country from a massive and comprehensive TV series and movies showing extreme fiction stories of adultery, betrayal, cheating and unethical conducts. The father believed, those stories to be mirrors of that country.
What if that father were alive today to see clips on the net and TVs stations that are gathered from surveillance cameras, mobile phone clips, police cars cameras, reporters camera, and amateur cameras, with numerous mediums for these clip to travel everywhere anytime to everyone anywhere. What if this father were alive today to witness the race of papers and all kinds of media to publish every detail of the worst and extremist incidents internally and externally. It appears as though we are in an imminent danger all the time.
Will he send any of his children to school? Would he feel safe? Do we?

A misery may gain a fortune

"A misery may gain a fortune". This is not a quotation from a holy book or a word of wisdom nor it is a consolation. It is a common experience realized by the right tools at the right time and place.
It is "a misery" for a man to be eaten by a group of lions. For the one who recorded the mishap with the right tool "a camera" at the right time, it was a "fortunate" incident to be sold to the medium willing to broadcast.
Natural and manmade disasters, criminal acts, accidents, parliament members' quarrels, neighbors' fights, trains and heavy trucks hitting unlucky cars, humans, animals or motorcycles are "miseries" to the maimed but to whoever sold the shot it was "fortunate" because of the income gained.
It doesn't matter what tag they have: breaking news, documentary, entertainment, or shocking reality. What really matters to TV stations is the result they make: more viewers, more advertisements, more subscribers and consequently more money "fortune".
Fortune extends to include viewers enjoying entertainment, time-killers, education to avoid what led to such miseries, a professional work of art crime to be copied, an acquaintance for authorities to take the right measures and prevent them from happening or to be ready for them when they happen. So it is not always bad after all. Isn't it?
On the other hand, I wonder What attract people to violence, disasters and criminal acts that societies are suffering from all over the world? What part of us do they satisfy? what if these clips are utilized by the wrong hand? How do they contribute to our knowledge. What effects do these programs do on our society? Is it the lack of creativity and the inability of our media to entertain? If it is a dangerous commodity invested by a popular TV station, how can we protect our society from it?

Creative Writing

Creative Writing
Becoming creative writer is not a big deal today. Once you know the rules of the game you will be way high. There are a set of rules to follow:
1. Be an omniscient "know it all" and label it with a tag of free opinion. Don't worry about specialties or those who dogmatically insist on them.
2. Magnify yourself in every piece of writing: you went everywhere, met everyone, had higher education, had smart childhood, never sin, and infallible. Meeting important people denies any claims of emptiness, studying abroad contradicts claims of being narrow-minded, and smart upbringing uplifts you over criticism and justify your neglect of it.
3. Attack common values and insult cultures and believes. Those restricted areas are the ones make you heard loud and clear. Don't worry about those back-warded who will always try to block your creativeness.
4. Invite controversy: find those areas of conflict and add yeast to brew to stimulate more conflict and insist on bringing them up and discuss them bluntly and openly, even if they contradict the common sense and believe.
5. Use connotations of offensive expressions known by everyone, yet be prepared for denying how others perceive them. You have been a smart child. Remember?
6. Don't worry about becoming the enemy of everyone because seeing your name in print worth becoming so.
7. Find yourself connections "wastah" in many publishing firms to help in two ways: one, to allow you to have your writing published; two, to block any criticism of your wonderful writing.
8. A word of wisdom "lie until believed" is one of the best to adhere to, so chew and re-chew and re-chew till absorbed.
